The Hot Springs Fire Department has issued a burn ban , effective at 5 p . m . today , July 6 , for the City of Hot Springs .  
   The ban is based on the potential fire hazard associated with current dry conditions and little to no precipitation in the forecast . The burn ban will be in effect as long as these conditions are present .
   The burn ban prohibits all controlled burning within city limits . All burn permits issued prior to the burn ban have been canceled; they can be reissued or extended when the ban is lifted .
