Here ' s a recap of the May 23 , 2022 regular City Council meeting .
During the public portion of the 3:30 p . m . work session:
Council discussed residential solid waste .
Council continued discussions about a Multifamily , Townhome , Neighborhood Park development located at Debbie Lane and Matlock Road intersection .
During the public portion of the 7 p . m . meeting:
Proclamation
Mayor Michael Evans proclaimed May 2022 as “National Foster Care Month” to honor the families that open their hearts and homes to children in the foster care system .
Oath of Office
Michael Evans took the oath of office as Mayor of Mansfield .
Tamera Bounds took the oath of office as Council Member , Place 2 .
Consent Agenda
Council passed a resolution authorizing funding in an amount not to exceed $523 , 800 and approval of a contract with Halff Associates Inc . for engineering design services to prepare the North Main Street ( US Business Highway 287 ) to FM 157 Connector Roadway for public bidding and construction ( Street Bond Fund ) .
Council passed a resolution to consider approving a proposal with Ad Giants Ventures , LLC in an amount not to exceed $185 , 000 for an Economic Development production and advertising campaign .
Council passed a resolution to consider support for a hazard mitigation program grant application to the Texas Department of Emergency Management for Watson Branch Channel Improvements .
Council approved a resolution suspending the June 17 , 2022 effective date of Oncor Electric Delivery’s requested rate change to permit the City time to study the request and establish reasonable rates .
Council approved minutes for the May 9 , 2022 regular meeting .
Council approved minutes for the May 17 , 2022 special meeting .
Public Hearing and First Reading
Council held a public hearing and first reading of an ordinance approving a zoning change from Single - Family Residential district to Planned Development district for Single - Family Residential uses on approximately 2 . 97 acres known as Lot 15 located at 301 Sayers St . to be used by Habitat for Humanity .
Public Hearing Continuation and Second and Final Reading
Council held a public hearing and continuation and second and final reading regarding an ordinance approving a change of zoning for approximately 60 . 92 acres at 1400 Flying L Lane to Planned Development district for Single - Family Residential use . The ordinance was denied .
