2 . Request approval of First Reading of Ordinance No . 2022 - 15 , Amending Ordinance 2021 - 01/Chapter 38 , Article V , Public Parks and Recreation or as otherwise codified in the Code of Ordinances - this passed 7 - 0
3 . Request approval of First Reading of Ordinance No . 2022 - 16 , Amending Chapter 8 , Animals , of the Code of Ordinances - this passed 7 - 0
CITY MANAGER ' S REPORT
1 . The City Manager reported that the owners of the rail - bed have agreed to sell the rail - bed from Sorrento to Tavares for a price of $18 , 500 , 000 . The County will vote at their next meeting whether or not to agree to the terms of the deal . Additionally , the County along with the City of Mount Dora and the City of Tavares , will have to commit an additional $5 million to buyout the current lease of the rail - bed .
The City Manager also reported that Medallion Homes has agreed to install a traffic light on SR44 at the entrance/exit of the Lakes of Mount Dora . Florida Department of Transportation will install a temporary traffic light at the subject intersection by the end of the year while we await design and installation of the permanent traffic light . The permanent traffic light should be completed within 24 months .
