( May 31 , 2022 ) – The City
of Longmont will host a public meeting on Monday , June 6 to share information about several upcoming construction projects happening in central Longmont . The meeting is open to the public and will run from 5:30 – 7 p . m . at the Longmont Senior Center , 910 Longs Peak Avenue .
The event will kick off with an overview presentation from the director of engineering and will feature poster stations where attendees can learn about the following projects from several project engineers with the department of Public Works and Natural Resources:
Boston Avenue Bridge Replacement
:
Replacement of the existing bridge on Boston Avenue over St . Vrain Creek . The bridge will be lengthened to accommodate a wider channel and will include sidewalks and bike lanes to provide safer multi - modal access for pedestrians and bicyclists .
Price Park Tank Replacement
:
Replacement of the existing water storage reservoir with an above - ground tank located west of Sunset Street and north of Longs Peak Avenue near Price Park and Sunset Golf Course .
Third Avenue Improvements
:
Updates on planned improvements along Third Avenue between Main Street and Sunset Street , including storm drainage , traffic mitigation and parking delineators .
Coffman Street Busway
:
Construction of a dedicated busway on Coffman Street between Second and Ninth Avenues , including widened sidewalks , protected bike lanes , on - street parking , one travel lane in each direction and center - running bus lanes .
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the scopes , schedules and potential traffic impacts of projects starting this month and continuing through next year . All of these projects aim to improve safety , mobility and access to critical resources for residents and businesses throughout Longmont .
