Title of Immediate Supervisor:
Ongoing Supervisor/Training Officer
Responsibilities:
Provides intensive casework services including counseling parents of children deemed to be at risk of abuse, neglect, and/or dependency; manages cases through the adoption process, as needed. Monitors case plan through home visits. Educates parents regarding all areas of child and family development via individual and/or group counseling.
Provides complex supportive services to children and foster parents via face-to-face contacts with child and foster family. Based upon case plan, makes appropriate referrals to community and agency resources; monitors progress of services; requests quarterly reports from all service providers.
Responds to crisis situations which arise during or after work hours on a twenty-four (24) hour per day basis. Acts as liaison between family and community agencies by attending and/or scheduling relevant staffing, conferences, and Administrative Reviews.
Develops and monitors case plan designed to alleviate problems causing child to be at risk.
Prepares cases for and testifies in Court as required. Becomes knowledgeable with laws concerning child abuse, neglect, and dependency.
Completes required paperwork and maintains case records based upon agency standards. Attends unit, departmental, and general staff meetings as required. Attends and participates in supervisory conferences as required. Attends and participates in appropriate training as needed. Provides transportation to clients as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology or degree in related field with paid casework experience. Must have valid Ohio driver’s license, state minimum automobile insurance, and car available at all times.
