CHESTERFIELD COUNTY , VA
— In an effort to make the payment process easier than ever , Chesterfield County’s Treasurer’s Office is offering a host of options this spring for residents to pay their personal property taxes .
The payments , which are due on
June 6
, can be made anytime at a variety of locations and in secure ways .
Here are the various ways to pay:
Mail In
: As always , the easiest way to pay your personal property tax is to mail in your payment . But new this year , the Treasurer’s Office made it possible for all payments to be made locally rather than having them mailed to Charlotte . Instead , each payment that is mailed in goes directly to a secure lockbox here in Chesterfield . The address for all mailed in payments is: Treasurer’s Office P . O . Box 70 Chesterfield VA 23832
Drop Box
: In addition to mailing your payment , you can also pay your tax bill by utilizing the secure drop box located in the parking lot at the County Admin Building ( 9901 Lori Road ) .
Self - Service Kiosks
: The Treasurer’s Office added two new kiosks where residents can pay their taxes this year . In addition to the kiosk at the County Admin Building , there are now locations at the North Courthouse Library ( 325 Courthouse Road ) and at Meadowdale Library ( 4301 Meadowdale Blvd ) . Again , these are secured payment centers that are available 24 hours a day . All kiosks accept cash , check , credit , or debit . A receipt is also provided for your records .
Online
: Residents can also choose to make their payments online via the
Treasurer’s Office website
by creating a user ID and from there associate all of their personal property and real estate accounts . By creating this user ID , all payments and statements are brought under one umbrella for easy access . Payments can be made either instantly or scheduled to run at a future date . In order to create a user ID , a taxpayer needs 1 ) the account number and 2 ) the last five digits of the primary account holder’s Social Security Number and Driver’s License number .
When using the online payment portal , paying by eCheck does not have processing fees for the taxpayer .
The Treasurer’s Office also offers an automated payment service ( APS ) wherein the tax payment will be debited directly from the taxpayer’s bank account on the due date , at no charge to the taxpayer . For more information , see

If you are using your bank’s online bill pay function , you will need to include company name ( Treasurer , Chesterfield County ) , address ( P . O . Box 70 Chesterfield VA 23832 ) , and the account number found on your bill . Please create a separate payee for each account number .
