Come out for one of our community’s favorite events: the July 4 parade and , this year , block party on Maine Street! Hosted by the City of Fallon , Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Churchill County Parks & Recreation , this annual celebration is a community - wide event with plenty of activities for families .
   Start with the parade at 10 a . m . which follows the “usual” route: starting on Taylor Street at the middle school , north on Taylor to A Street , east on A Street to Ada Street , south on Ada Street to Williams Avenue , east on Williams Avenue to Maine Street , south on Maine Street to the middle school . Entries for floats will be accepted online through June 24 .  
   Following the parade , stay for the block party on Maine Street between Williams Avenue and Stillwater Ave . The street will be blocked off until 2 p . m . for pedestrians and families to enjoy bed races , water games , a children’s bike parade and the fire truck sprinklers . Have lunch at food trucks and shop at vendor booths . Many downtown businesses will be open and the Fallon Theatre will be showing cartoon “shorts” if you need a break from the heat .
   Parade and block party sponsors include Fitness for $10 , Big R , New Millennium , JOIN , Banner Churchill Community Hospital , Financial Horizons Credit Union , American Legion , Walker Lake Disposal , Edward Jones , Fallon Glass and Sign , Tedford Tire & Auto , Kent’s Supply Center , K . D . Automotive , The Depot and Class One Motorsports .
   A pie making contest will be held as part of the celebrations , so bake those pies and bring them to His Inspirations , 200 South Maine Street , on July 2 by 2 p . m . for judging . Winners announced at the block party .
