General Description/JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, the Account Clerk III is responsible for assisting clients interacting with the Child Support Enforcement Agency regarding financial issues related to complaints and inquiries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs all case related audits to ensure the accuracy of all account balances. Audits could be at the request of the parties, staff attorney or another state, or due to a change in the child support order. Conducts audits during the Contempt process for the purpose of requesting accurate judgements; Completes audits for cases that involve cash medical and/or availability of health insurance. Responsible for the calculation of subtotal and total interest related to judgements obtained through a contempt action and updating interest calculations for emancipations and terminations. Enters all orders into SETS (new orders, modifications, out of state, IV-E) and updates system for all subsequent actions (updating suborders/account balances for out of state orders). Adjudicate account balances at the request of the Case Managers. Tax Offset Coordinator for the Agency. Handles all inquiries and issues related to State and Federal Tax Offsets. Research and address issues regarding cases in receipt of public assistance. Communicate with the Department of Job and Family Services to remedy case issues.
Work the IV-A Report (QDE014) on a daily basis and contact DJFS worker to resolve any identified discrepancies. Work HEX Report at month end. Serves as the back-up for the Account Clerk II.
Process and balance cash payments as needed.

Acts as a Spearhead for the Agency and contacts the Help Desk to resolve issues. Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE ABOVE STATED DUTIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:
State and Federal laws and rules governing the child support program*; CSEA policies and procedures*; Washington County Personnel Policy Manual*; CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement*; computer operating systems; SETS*, CSPC*, IPHIS*, IPACT*, Control-D*, and Courtview*.
SKILLS AND ABILITY TO:
Perform financial calculations and complete detailed reports related to case audits; read, copy and record figures accurately; calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages; analyze and apply state and federal laws and regulations; define and resolve problems; collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; develop and maintain effective working relationships; handle sensitive inquiries and maintain confidentiality; effectively communicate information both verbally as well as in written form; deal with difficult clients and maintain professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and possess the skills and abilities to perform all essential job-related duties listed above.
