Nassau Bay, Texas Seeks City Manager
Located on a 1.7-square-mile triangular peninsula jutting into Clear Lake and surrounded by water on its western, southern, and eastern boundaries, the City of Nassau Bay is a charming and intimate community focused on Charting New Horizons.
Incorporated in 1970 as a Texas General Law City before it reorganized as a Home-Rule City eight years later, the community has simple origins: to provide housing opportunities for NASA employees. Located southeast of Houston within the bounds of Harris County — the country’s fifth-largest metropolitan area with more than 6 million people. This exceptional heritage created an out-of-this-world community, powered by science, the spirit of adventure, and the wonder of nature. Today, the tiny municipality offers an oasis of waterfront fun and lush green spaces within the immense Houston metro area.
The successful candidate for this role will be the consummate relationship builder with demonstrated success in infrastructure planning, community engagement and organizational efficiency, The minimum educational requirement for this position is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree, ICMA-CM, and/or CPM is highly desirable. The City is seeking candidates with five or more years of experience as a senior-level public administrator in a full-service city or comparable organization of similar size and complexity to Nassau Bay.
The target hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $180,000, depending on qualifications.
