Community Development has a vacancy for a Building Inspector. This position is responsible for carefully reviewing application materials, conducting field inspections, and performing plan review to ensure compliance with adopted building codes, fire codes, and other development regulations. An essential part of the job is to work positively, and in a solution-oriented manner with customers, their design/engineering professionals, other members of the public, and co-workers. Additional tasks may include investigating complaints, responding to customer inquiries, and assisting with life/safety inspections and damage investigations.
