Under close supervision, transports seniors, disabled persons, and volunteers to and from scheduled destinations throughout the City of Inglewood. This job classification is subject to random drug testing according to the Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations.
   Performs pre-trip checklist to verify safety inspections and maintain the vehicle;
   Checks operation of wheelchair lifts and restraint devices for safe operation;
   Communicates with staff to determine and verify the time and place of pick-ups and drop-offs;
   Maintains and submits daily mileage logs, duty status, timesheets, and schedule/appointment records;
   Maintains cleanliness of vehicle;
   Collects fares from passengers for transportation service;
   Conducts surveys to ensure passenger satisfaction;
   WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
   Work is performed in vehicles. Work requires sitting for long periods, driving, bending, and lifting 50 pounds. Incumbents may be exposed to extreme temperatures and weather, moving traffic, and infectious diseases. All selected candidates must complete a medical questionnaire, be fingerprinted, provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and present their social security card BEFORE beginning employment with the City of Inglewood.
   THE SELECTION PROCESS for this position will consist of an application review to ensure that all applicants meet the minimum requirements for the job classification. Qualified applicants will be invited to an interview with the Hiring Authority. All selected candidates shall be fingerprinted, provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and present their social security card BEFORE beginning employment with the City of Inglewood.
