☷BLM Northwest Resource Advisory Council to meet in May

KREMMLING , Colo . – The Bureau of Land Management’s Northwest Resource Advisory Council ( RAC ) will conduct a field tour on May 25 commencing at 10 a . m . at the North Sand Hills Recreational Management Area ( SRMA ) and complete the tour at 1 p . m . Members of the public are welcome on field tours but must provide their own transportation and meals . The RAC will host a virtual meeting on May 26 from 10 a . m . to 3 p . m . The meeting is open to the public and agenda and registration information is posted on the Northwest RAC’s webpage at https://www . blm . gov/get - involved/resource - advisory - council/near - you/colorado/northwest - rac . “The Northwest Colorado Resource Advisory Council and it’s members are valuable partners with the BLM who provide recommendations that help guide our management of public lands , ” said Northwest District Manager Elijah Waters . “We appreciate and carefully consider their advice , ideas , and diverse opinions on a range of complex issues . ”A public comment period is scheduled at 2:00 p . m . on May 26 . Planned agenda items include an overview of field office updates , a discussion on the North Sand Hills SRMA , a presentation on current resource management issues , and an opportunity for public comment . Individuals who want to make a statement during the public comment period are encouraged to also submit a written copy of their statement at the meeting for the administrative record . The three 15 - member Resource Advisory Councils in Colorado are forums for providing advice and recommendations to the BLM on various resource and land management issues . The Northwest Resource Advisory Council advises the BLM Colorado Northwest and Upper Colorado River Districts including the Little Snake , Kremmling , White River , Grand Junction and Colorado River Valley field offices and the Dominguez - Escalante and McInnis Canyons National Conservation Areas .
