The City of Worthington is seeking an experienced professional for the new position of Assistant Chief of EMS and Community Risk Reduction.
Salary $111,460 to $118,148 – depending upon qualifications. This po
sition will provide managerial support, leadership, and project management for the Division of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The Assistant Chief of EMS and Community Risk Reduction will be the Division’s EMS Coordinator, participate in hiring and promotional processes, mentor Division EMTs/Paramedics and oversee the EMS Quality Improvement Program. Additionally, he/she will function as the leadership point of contact for fire prevention efforts and managing community risk reduction events.
Minimum two or more years of EMS supervisory experience at an officer level required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferred. Or, five years of EMS supervisory experience in EMS Coordination or Administration with an Associate's Degree and active enrollment in a bachelor's degree program. Candidates must possess a current State of Ohio Firefighter II certification, a current State of Ohio Paramedic certification, a valid Ohio driver's license, and have ten years of active paramedic experience. The selected candidate will be expected to achieve State of Ohio EMS Instructor and Fire Safety Inspector certification within a time period determined by the Fire Chief.
