This is a transition position that will be 20 hours per week for the first few months during training transitioning to full time within 5 months with achieved performance.
    
   The Delta County Assessor’s Office is accepting applications for an appraiser:
   Appraiser (Journey)
   The successful candidate must be able to perform appraisals of land and improvements and any other assigned property subclasses. Familiarity with Colorado assessment regulations required. The ability to analyze and provide complex computerized statistical analysis of property values for assigned subclasses is required. Associates Degree in Business, Management, or related, with at least 3 years appraisal experience. Combination of experience and education could waive specific requirements. The applicant must possess a Colorado Appraisal License and valid Colorado Driver’s License.
   Hiring Range: $19.79 – 21.60 per hour depending on qualifications

   Appraiser (Entry)
   The successful candidate must be energetic, a team player, self starter and very people oriented. Computer knowledge/experience is a must. Appraisal education and/or construction experience is desired. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Registered Appraiser’s License within one year of hire. Training will be provided.  The applicant must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
   Hiring Range:  $17.52 per hour

   Delta County offers benefits for this position which include medical, dental, vision, and additional selective optional insurances available to the employee and eligible dependents on a cost share basis between employee and the organization.  Life insurance and employee only medical insurance is available at no cost to the employee. We have a pre-tax flexible spending account. Employees contribute 4% of salary to a 401(a) retirement account fully matched with 4% from the County along with an optional 457 tax advantaged deferred-compensation retirement plan. Paid time off is accrued at 14 hours per month with an additional 11 paid holidays in a calendar year.  We have a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes counseling along with some legal and financial support counseling.
