Newtown Township Police Department, Delaware County, is seeking a full-time administrative assistant person to provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. Compensation will be based on experience. Excellent benefits are offered.
A. Administrative Assistant
1. Responsibilities – Act as a receptionist, messenger and office assistant for Newtown Township Police Department.
2. Duties
a. Ability to communicate effectively and in a courteous and tactful manner via phone, email, and mail.
b. Answers routine calls and coordinates messages utilizing a multi-line telephone system.
c. Handles citizen questions and complaints, re-directing them to the proper destination if necessary.
d. Handles and prepares District Attorney’s requests.
e. Daily review of all incident reports in the records management system, making minor corrections if necessary.
f. Maintains accident reports and requests, processing fees accordingly.
g. Perform record check or background check for various agencies.
h. Prepares Citation Transmittal for District Court, maintains copies of Citations.
i. Handles Expungement Order’s from the court.
j. Filing system management.
k. Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
l. Have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
m. Alarm registration billing and account maintenance.
n. Maintain office supply inventory, order office supplies as needed.
o. Prepare communications, such as memos, emails,, reports, and other correspondence.
p. Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police or Command Staff.
