Position Title:
Administrative Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator

Non-exempt, Hourly, Classified
Pay Rate: $11.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
:
Answering phones
Assist with recruiting and volunteer trainings in/out of office
Scheduling and providing support for onsite and offsite volunteers per station requests
Accurately recording volunteer timesheets
Collecting and recording station report
Maintaining up-to-date office policies and procedures manual
Coordinate Commodity Box distribution 3 days a month at WC Fairgrounds
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
:
Professional appearance in business casual work environment and Professional phone etiquette
Courteous and cheerful with staff, volunteers and the public
Punctual and able to meet deadlines
Able to work independently with minimum supervision
MVR and FBI/BCII fingerprint background check (
good driving record with no felony convictions)
Desired Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
two (2) years’ work experience in related field with an
established good work record
Necessary Knowledge
Working knowledge of common office machines to include scanner, fax, adding machine, and copier
Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word is essential
Excellent internet skills to include email, attachments, research
Ability to effectively meet and communicate with the public
Public speaking skills a plus
Hours of Work
28 to 30 hours per week.
Flexible work schedule between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Lunch is 30-minutes for a shift of 6-8 hours.
Physical demands
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time at volunteer recruitment events.

The majority of work is performed in an office setting where resources may be shared by others. The noise and distraction levels are sometimes moderate to high as the office is located in a busy senior center.
