The Fayetteville Fire Department is a progressive , all - hazards emergency services response agency that includes fire suppression , emergency medical services , every kind of rescue , code enforcement , arson investigation and public education . These services are provided by 122 members from 8 fire stations with state - of - the - art fire trucks , rescue and medical equipment . Our firefighters are committed to delivering the finest customer service possible .  
   The Fayetteville Fire Department also covers the University of Arkansas , which encompasses more than 130 buildings on 412 acres and has an enrollment of approximately 27 , 500 students .
