Definition
:
Under immediate supervision, compiles, updates, and maintains data and documents pertaining to property evaluation.
Essential Functions
:

Tasks:
Maintains files of data and documents which are kept current by entering new data; reviews and examines for errors, which are corrected following established procedures; assigns identification numbers to documents or applications; enters the number on appropriate forms and papers; searches blue prints, maps, charts, records, and diagrams for information about current and recent construction; compiles data, computes and summarizes quantitative data.
Gathers information from manuals, statutes, rule books, codes, and regulations; gives and receives information by phone or personal contact; adjusts, adds, deletes, splits, and combines identification numbers; types a variety of forms and reports; verifies building permits by using the Arizona Department of Revenue on-line computer; adds new mobile homes to assessor’s tax rolls; calculates taxes, types letters and explains tax bills to Santa Cruz County property owners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics
:
Knowledge of procedures and practices of the Assessor’s office.
Knowledge of manuals, statutes, rule books, codes, and regulations pertinent in assessing property.
Skill in operating a calculator, computer terminal, and related software.
Skill in communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
Skill in data gathering, analysis and interpretation.
Qualifications
:
One (1) year experience in office and clerical work, dealing with land records or property values.
